I sent some to Phil one year - he still has them in their box.  I can't stand them but feel obligated to eat at least one every Easter!  :P

Some people like them best when they're stale! I don't "do" sugar  but I do think they add a nice touch of color to any Easter basket ::)

I have to admit I have had a few chuckles reading this thread especially when it slowly evolved into a "what we think the brits are nuts for"  :D .  And they are all mainly true and I can't and don't want to defend us brits for them as they are what makes us uniquely odd.  I myself can't wait to have years finding out all the differences and look forward to chuckling over every one.  Though I am sure I will chuckle more than Helena.

On the whole whatever we do here that seams weird or amazingly strange they all pale into insignificance next to the American concept of having a bacon sausage egg breakfast and thinking pancakes maple syrup and some kind of fruit sauce would be a good idea  ;D .

Pancakes and fruit and cream are for sweet or afters maybe with ice cream and maple sauce too  :D

No, no, no, no, no.  Pancakes are an anytime meal (ie, why I-HOP is open late) ;)

My Brit hubby loves IHOP and Denny's and Bob Evans!  ;)  He also is rather fond of his pancakes and syrup and biscuits and gravy!   ;D

My husband's face actually turned green when he saw people putting sweet salads (e.g. jello type) next to their turkey and gravey at Easter a couple of years ago!   ;D

Wow, now I'll have to ask my DF what he thinks is too American of me!   I have been teased for running around barefoot all the time & running out to my car that way but I just explain that where I come from it's warm enough to do that all the time!

I've always been somewhat of a bohemian when it comes to lack of shoes and living here makes no difference- my shoes come off the second I come into the house. No matter how often I step outside for something, its still done barefooted (except to go to the store, drats).  The Brits think I'm nuts for going to the local store (2 doors away) with no coat on when its cold. I figure I can 'suffer' for 100 feet. I can't be 'arsed' LOL. Call it my overly warm southern blood??

If we're in the US and eat breakfast out, yes.  But I don't usually make biscuits & gravy and pancakes in the same meal here.  I do try to do a good fry up at least 2 times a month (on the weekend) - complete with black pudding!  ;)

Eating baked beans as a vegetable, not for BREAKFAST!  I try when his mom serves them with breakfast but oh my it's tough.  I just wanna ask for the bbq ribs when I eat baked beans!

Which side do you walk on in hallways, pavements and stairs?

I've lived in the UK on and off since the early 70's and still go through the right hand door, and down the right side of the pavement or stairs.

Funny enough I did the opposite last time I was in the US.

Got the same strange look both sides of the Atlantic.
