Paralympics

Anybody else watching this?  Team GB is amazing.  Here's a list of our medalists (so far - more to come, no doubt!):

I'm rushing home to make sure I catch all the coverage I can get on BBC2.  These are amazing atheletes.

And a serious argument AGAINST using gene research to ensure "perfect" babies.

i agree.

did you know that american isn't showing the paraolympcs at ALL.  they had something like 140 presenters for the regular olympics from American TV....and not ONE is around for the para.

that doesn't look too good for the new york olympic bid eh?>

It was sad, listening to one of the top US amputee sprinters talking about how there was no coverage in the US.  That's just wrong.  >:(

Oh - Team GB is just tearing up almost everyone in the pool!  I cried when Gareth Duke won his Gold - he's only 18 and it's his first Olympics and no one expected him to take Gold - including him!  And during the medal ceremony when the anthem was playing and he was crying...oh, I was all choked up!

It's because of things like this that, now that we're back in the US,  we are going to get satellite tv.  I need to make sure I still get the BBC.

To me, paraolympics are far more significant than the regular Olympics.
