The flood
« on: June 12, 2012, 04:52:26 PM »
As anyone reading the visa forum right now will notice, we're getting a flood of people asking whether they fall under the new or old rules just to get an answer, even it is completely obvious what the answer is because this is the clearest grandfathering protocol they've probably ever given. Could we maybe stick up a big flashing banner at the top of the page saying 'If you applied for ANY step of the family route before 9 July, you are under the old rules' so that we don't have a million duplicate threads basically asking the same question even when their situations are not actually any different from the ones already asked and answered the 999,999 times before that? :P
Arrived as student 9/2003; Renewed student visa 9/2006; Applied for HSMP approval 1/2008; HSMP approved 3/2008; Tier 1 General FLR received 4/2008; FLR(M) Unmarried partner approved (in-person) 27/8/2009; ILR granted at in-person PEO appointment 1/8/2011; Applied for citizenship at Edinburgh NCS 31/10/2011; Citizenship approval received 4/2/2012

Done, thanks for the heads up. Let me know if the wording should be improved. :)
