I'm new to this but I would be willing to meet up anywhere within about 15 miles of Sale.
The journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step.

May you find hope in the darkest hours and focus on the brightest days free from bitterness that grows you may not judge the universe.

I'm happy with anything (even more happy if it's without my kids too- haha :D  I'll be driving so location isn't an issue.  I'd be willing to carpool too if anyone wants.

Sandbach is manageable w/r/t parking, access etc. and a nice little community. I'm probably one of the older folks, so city-center Manchester has zero appeal for me, never mind the driving, parking etc.
Married December 1992 (my 'old flame' whom I first met in the mid-70s)
1st move to UK - 1993 (Letter of Consent granted at British Embassy in Washington DC)
ILR - 1994 (1 year later - no fee way back then!)
Back to US in 2000
Returned to UK July 2011 (Spousal Visa/KOL endorsement)
ILR - September 2011
Application for naturalization submitted July 2014
Approval received 15-10-14; ceremony scheduled for 10 November!
Passport arrived 25 November 2014. Finally done!

Tony, Sandbach is about an hour from Sale, its like 40 miles away, but takes ages to get to. Somewhere more central to people in Manchester/Cheshire would be better. City Centre has good public transport links, vadio, driving isn't the only option to get into town. Wilmslow is also good and has lots of good restaurants, Alderley Edge also. Is there a date set yet?

I agree with Vadio! I would prefer Sandbach as well. I have to confess that I find Manchester kind of a nightmare and try to avoid it if all possible unless I'm with my husband. Sandbach would be a lot easier (especially with parking and maneuvering around).

Okay- Sandbach it is...I am thinking July 19th which is a Thursday at The Limes- If this dates suits most, I will ring the limes to confirm-- are people up for giving crown green bowls a go? They have a dine and bowls special which is £10 includes a two course meal, rental of bowls and use of the green- if people want to give it a go I will ring and confirm it is available that night.

So overall
July 19th?

5:30?

Dinner and Bowls?

If this works for the majority I will confirm with The Limes and then create a new thread so all can see the details.

Just did a quick aa route-- it is 23 miles so a bit further- it is just right off the M6, hope you won't find it too far for you. Train is also an option -if you want to take the train I am happy to pick up and drop off at the station. AA says it is  a 30 minute drive, I would guess it is closer to 40 minutes though to be honest.

Looks like it is just the the three of us!  I am sorry I haven't been better updating at all. I have run and they are expecting us. We can bowl at 5:30-- we need to be off the green no later than 7:00 (probably more 6:30) then we can eat :)
