I think either way it's going to be tough on a lot of folks. Employer healthcare is going to become more expensive or else the employer will insist their workers find their own coverage. In Massachusetts, if the employer offers health insurance the worker has to take it -- even if it sucks.
But it is a step in the right direction. What I would like to see is some kind of curtailment of doctors ordering prescriptions and/or procedures that they know the insurance company covers -- without it really being medically necessary. The insurance companies offer all this coverage, which is great if the patient really needs it, but often its not. This will only push up the cost of premiums, co-pays and so on.
