Hello From Texas to any Americans in Wales....
« on: July 02, 2012, 10:08:34 PM »
Howdy all, My wife is from South Somerset, we're considering moving back to the Wales region to raise our family. She thought it might be a good idea for me to touch base with other Americans living in the UK and see what their thoughts are, we have a friend in New Zealand that absolutely hates it, so...are there any Americans living in Wales that want to share their feelings, experiences....etc. ?

Not in Wales but wanted to say welcome and hope you have found some more info!  We are moving our family to Newcastle in a few days, we think it will be the best place to raise our kids as we have no family where we are now, my husbands family is there.

I'm in South Wales and love it here!  I've been here for six years now and call it home.  There is a lovely mix here--a good cultural life, beautiful countryside, and it's small enough that the people are still very friendly.  I've been very happy with Wales.  The main downside I can think of is the jobs market is difficult--depending on what you are looking for and what your work history is.  It's a lovely place though.  Where are you thinking of moving?
