Marco Pierre White
« on: July 06, 2012, 08:09:11 AM »
I have become fascinated by Marco Pierre White. He seems to be teetering on the edge of insanity. He apparently is shilling for Knorr these days and has a whole series of vids. Here is one where he plunges about two pounds of potatoes into an over-filled skillet full of grease:

What is he thinking? You can see the oil sluicing over into the flames. He seems unperturbed.

He says he uses granules instead of salt.  Granules of what?

He's talking about Knorr Stock Granules (http://www.tesco.com/groceries/Product/Details/?id=251993902&sc_cmp=pcp_GSF_54125951)

He's using them like chicken or veg flavoured seasoning salt.

Ew... and sorry...that is NOT a Spanish Tortilla/Omelet.  My grandmother is rolling over in her grave at the thought.  Looney man and he burnt the dang thing!

Well it's an Englishman's version....once you douse it in HP who'll notice? I would suggest serving with a chilled Stella....

I lived in Spain for a while and don't remember seeing anyone deep fry their potatoes before cooking the eggs.  That was interesting.

Yes, I thought the same thing when I was watching this video. My Spanish friend made Spanish omelette for me once and she definitely didn't deep fry anything first. Oh, and no onions, just potatoes and eggs...and no granules.
