Stranger in a strange land - MD to Crystal Palace
« on: July 15, 2012, 08:56:56 AM »
Hey there,

I recently moved to London from Maryland to be with my wife. Now that I am waiting for my further leave to remain with roughly 6000 others, I find that I am in need of things to do to keep me occupied since I am unable to work as of yet. I am in Crystal palace. Any suggestions on athletic groups to join? Any musicians out there? What could this new adventure going to bring into my life?

Corey

Hi Corey. Welcome to UKY (and London)!

There is loads to keep you busy while you wait.

Meetup.com has hundreds of groups in London. Timeout.com has great listings for current stuff going on, including lots of free things. And I'm not sure what borough you are in, but I'd check with them regarding the sports. I'm in Ealing and they publish a list of events and ongoing groups. Perhaps yours does too?

Have fun and enjoy your transition.
