In Derby since Dec and I'm ready to make friends kkthx

Welp,

25 year old ex- Texan (21ish years)/Californian (3 years) beginning to get homesick for...well, friends close to my age, mostly.

I'm pretty sure if I had a real job and or went to school and or had kids I'd be meeting people and making friends left and right, buuut currently I'm only volunteering at a charity shop and have joined a book club. Yay. I've asked around and apparently hitting the pubs is the thing to do to meet people but I don't think the British hubby would approve.

Any ideas?? (This includes those of you that want to meet up for coffee during the week- hint hint)

Michelle, can you drive?

I live in Newcastle Under Lyme (next to Stoke-On-Trent) But I work just in Burton-On-Trent! (30 minutes away from Derby) My husband works away during the week and a lot of times I'm able to leave work anywhere between 2:30-4:30 depending on how slow we are (I've had other days where I've been able to leave even earlier than that!) We can always meet for a coffee or something in between if you would like!

Can't drive yet- hubby is going to start me on a provisional license in the upcoming months (just sorted my two year visa) so right now I'm taking the bus! I believe there's a bus to Burton I can take if you'd like to meet somewhere (preferably if you know the area) at the station. Otherwise Derby has a huge Westfield Shopping Mall I'd love to take you around

Yeah, we can work something out! It really just depends on my work! (Like I said, some days I can leave early and other no...I feel bad about it because it's hard to plan thing! LOL!) I don't know Burton or Derby at all! (We are out in the middle of the country! No mans land! haha! BUT Sat Nav's are a beautiful thing!

I replied too because there are people close to my age on this particular forum! I'm 20 and will be headed to the UK eventually when myself and my boyfriend decide exactly when we want to be married and visas and all that fun junk, hehe. I'd like to be friends as well, even though I'm a Northern girl.
