Halloween
« on: September 08, 2012, 04:43:02 PM »
As of this moment I am still waiting for my fiance visa to go through, but it is giving me time to do some massive Halloween shopping. Halloween is my favorite holiday, always has been. When I was a kid I liked it way better than Christmas, so moving to a place that doesn't have that much Halloween stuff about (Guernsey) is kind of a big deal. I have been going to every single store and buying every Halloween thing that I like. I know it is going to cost a fortune to ship this stuff but I think it's worth it if I can't find the stuff at all over there. Is anybody else totally into Halloween?

If you like candy corn, bring it!  You can't get it here.  :)

My British friends at work are all cuckoo for candy corn, they loooooove it (say it tastes like fudge) & are eagerly awaiting their candy corn delivery when I return from my late autumn travels to the US.
Ring the bells that still can ring

That's how the light gets in...

Mrs R, if you like candy corn, you may want to try these:

They come out on Monday!

OG- I like Halloween, too. I bought some clearance stuff last year that I've already packed (wasn't sure when I'd be moving, so I didn't want to miss out!) I think I will get a few more things this year, as well as Thanksgiving stuff if I can find it this early. I think it's the little things like decorations for American (well, mainly American) holidays will make a big difference!

I've been concentrating on getting Halloween bakeware and kitchen decorating stuff. So far I have a zombie head cookie jar, a cermaic black bowl held up by witch hands, eyeball salt and pepper shakers, bunch of teatowels and pot holders and 4 of each of a set of matching thick plastic Halloween plates, glasses and bowls. Both my fiance and I love spooky stuff all year so I am trying to get things that can decorate the place on a permanant basis.

I can't believe this hasn't been posted here before... But a reminder:

http://www.cybercandy.co.uk

If you are in London, Brighton or Birmingham you can just walk in. Though I did a quick search and candy corn was out of stock.

And I have one word for you: Amazon! They even have Jelly Belly ones that are prime eligible.

I also discovered a candy store just on the edge of Covent Garden when I was in London this summer. I looked around just because I was curious. Tons of candy and American cereal as well (the kids' kinds, not like Kashi.) I forget the name, though!

That was probably Cybercandy as they have a shop right off Covent Garden...

I hate the 'Christmas creep'. It needs to stay out of Halloween! [smiley=smash.gif]
