Last I posted, I was preparing for the big move. That big move happened on the 28th of May! Nearly missed my flight from Heathrow to Edinburgh thanks to a ridiculous wait at the border. An employee had to run a group of us across the airport and through security to make our flights. So embarrassing when I rushed onto the plane and all impatient eyes were on me! I hadn't slept at all the night before or on my trip, so I was barely awake enough to hug my husband when I arrived. :x
It was a busy start. After visiting family in Cumbria, we came back up to look for a new flat. Yep, another move. We ended up with a flat a mere five minutes' walk from the old one. Then we lost internet. It took Sky and BT over a month to realise the right line had never been installed in this flat to start with. No skyping home in that time, so it was hard, especially since my mom and aunt were trying to plan a trip for February. It affected my mental health to the point I wasn't functioning, but that's being sorted now. I could deck Sky and BT though! Ugh. Useless. That's why I was unable to keep up to date with the forums.
Still don't really know anyone in town. Anyone know if there's a place fellow yanks gather in Edinburgh? I'm shy and unspeakably horrible at meeting new people. I love animals, talk about dead historic figures like I knew them personally, and do arty stuff. Awkward nerd material, pretty much.
Well, just thought I'd check in now that I'm on the other side of the pond. :) Now to catch up with whatever's been going on around here. I'm so glad this site exists. It really helped me get to where I am now, finally living with my husband! So grateful.
