Direct plus-how much to apply for?
« on: October 02, 2012, 08:40:32 PM »
I am right now filling out the papers I need to in order to apply for Direct Plus loans.
I am wondering how much to apply for.
When I do US-POUNDs conversions i think i need to ask for at least 27000.00 so that would land me around 16000 pounds.

But geeze that seems like a lot. but considering this is my only funding i guess thats normal? i just dont want to send in the application and they laugh at me lol

That's normal. I asked for 31000 and the total I could've asked for was 40,000.  It depends on your school but the worst that can happen is they lessen your amount to their maximum.

thanks...

i need more help. i am so confused ...as always

i am looking at the spreadsheet that the school sent me for the direct plus loan application and it makes no sense to me.

the school said it estimate that i will only need 6,000K????? wth

that makes no sense to me. Maybe because he did not put the cost of tuition in one of the blanks. not really sure how they expect an international student to live on 6000 USD?

Sounds like a mistake. I would contact this person directly or apply for the total you need and then see what happens. 6,000 usd is nothing. Would only last a few months at best. How stupid!

I have emailed the man and waiting on reply. I just thought that was so freaking odd. Common sense would tell anyone and international student can't live on that. shoot on their on webpage the estimate the cost of living to be at least 12000 Pounds.

Shucks i do not think an EU national could live on that amount lol
