We've hardly had any snow here at all (thank God!), but I think that the weather at home is starting to get to my dad.

I told him that we'd actually had a little flurry here the other day, and he said 'Good.  Welcome to reality.'

My parents live on the South Shore of Massachusetts and got two feet of snow. My mom said there were a few times they thought they were going to lose power, but it never went out. However, one of my best friends who lives in the same town lost power. I really don't remember ever losing power during a blizzard. My sister spent the Blizzard in Pembroke, MA and they lost power just after they cooked supper on Friday night.

My cousin in New Jersey had her baby during the blizzard and fortunately made it to the hospital before the roads became impassable. So yay!  :)

Snowing here in the west end of Glasgow just now.  Doesn't look like it's going to lie, though, so I am off out to Lupe Pintos!

We've had flurries all day today, and a bit stuck in the evening, bit not enough to really impact anything.

What kind of sick joke is this??? Forecast for London: rain all day tomorrow (Friday), and "very heavy" snowfall for most of the day on Saturday. What. the. hell.

a) it's nearly my birthday, I should be seeing daffodils in bloom, not snowmen
b) I'm supposed to run 20 miles on Saturday, which is hard enough in dry conditions
c) At this rate I'll be planting my seedlings in July...
Summer 97 - first visited friends in London
99-00 - studied at Uni of Sussex on exchange
Feb 02 - moved to London on BUNAC
Sep 02 - WP granted (IT skills shortage list)
Sep 04 - WP renewed
Sep 06 - WP renewed again (screwed by 4-5 year ILR change)
Sep 07 - ILR!
March 09 - Citizenship!
July 09 - bone marrow transplant :(
18 Sep 10 - wedding!
Mar 12 - half marathon in Paris! 1:47:12!
Oct 12 - Amsterdam FULL marathon! 3:48:23!

Yeah, it's supposed to be crap weather all over - except for south coast maybe.  :(

I've been wanting to buy a spring/summer dress, but have decided why bother? Better to just save my money or buy more woolies.  [smiley=disappointed.gif]

Maybe I'll just buy some wellies instead!

Woke up to blowing snow (as forecast); wind is howling, and looks thoroughly nasty outside. Not my idea of a great start to spring, particularly as my utility provider has  just said we need to increase the monthly direct debit.

in a word...YUCK!!

We got the same thing...up £30.00 a month  :( which I don't get because we keep our heat WAY down during the day and off completely at night. May have something to do with our "double" glazed windows and doors being a bit breezy??

Well I think you know from my frequent b*tching FB updates, PB! I am sooooo over it. Leeds got dumped upon bigtime - the snow in my back garden is over the tops of my walking boots & we had 1 foot drifts back there. It's the most snow we got all 'winter' - except it's supposed to be 'spring' now...both in accumulation & also that it snowed for about 38+ hours continuously. Wtf?! Today it's just Arctic out. The snow is hardly melting, what is melting is turning to ice & it's supposed to be cold like this all week.  [smiley=bigcry.gif]

At the end of March.  [smiley=blank.gif] There aren't enough swear words to express how much I hate it.  [smiley=argue.gif]

Stupid British weather, go away.  >:(

I've stayed inside, more or less, from Thursday night through today & starting to get cabin fever. But being outside is awful. (Ok I walked down to the store on Friday & pointlessly hauled the bins to put out for Saturday morning -- which I pretty much knew weren't going to be collected, and then I hauled them back around to put them away today.) I'm going to town tomorrow though - with walking boots & Yak Trax...my gym trainer says the footpaths & pavements etc are in horrible condition, very slippery, etc.  >:(

Also, we are going to the Lake District with some friends for Easter weekend - what I *thought* was going to be a nice spring mini-holiday. And now I'm terribly anxious about it all - worried about how much we are spending & if it's even going to be worth it (are we even going to be able to get there?!!), especially after seeing entire cars buried in the snow up in Cumbria.  :o

I don't like rambling in the freezing cold - definitely not in snow & ice. Grrrrrrr.  [smiley=bomb.gif]

Maybe I'll send DH & our friends out to ramble in the cold, whilst I read, sleep and/or prop up the bar, but that would seem a waste of Lake District £££.  ::)

We didn't get much at all here on the outskirts of Staffordshire/Cheshire. I can see my grass and the sidewalks are all clear. Its SOOOOO cold though. I had to put a towel up over the blinds in the bathroom because the wind was just blowing in through the windows (guess they don't seal properly). I'm so ready for Spring its not even funny!
