LOL!  I got a tellin' for supposedly not reading the post correctly, when it turns out it wasn't written correctly?!  ;D  That's good!  ;D

Anyway, the cheek air-kiss is pretty universal, isn't it?  Nothing odd or 'metropolitan' about it.  I don't really do it myself, but squillions of others do.  I shake hands if I am meeting you for the first time, and if you're a friend, I usually give you a quick hug, without the cheek kiss.

I voted by absentee ballot. This is my second major election abroad and its scary to think of the outcome. I dont like either candidate, but voted the least of the two evils.

I did vote green for a state senator, which I'm proud of and hope they get in!

I also hae to vote soon in the UK, which I'm not fully read up on, but know that in my area its not something we really want to vote on (the PCC votes)

Many of us have, and there's even a thread about it:

I think living in the UK might be a better experience politically. What i mean is that elections possibly might not have the same impact on the direction that nation could take.In America the act of voting could decide if a retired person has to deal with a social safety-net that is cut by 30%. I pay attention to uk politics but not living there, there is no way I can fully understand what all takes place between the various parties. But I hightly doubt either of Britain's main parties would want to get rid of the welfare system in order to give even larger tax breaks to the rich. I also doubt that issues such as ethnic voter suppression is a real problem in the Uk. Sadly it is in America.
