Landlord letter
« on: December 01, 2012, 01:36:24 PM »
Just wanting to check something.
Since we're applying in a month, my fiance' is going to make an appointment with his landlord about the letter for the UKBA. Is there any specific needed to be in it? The lease states 2 people can reside in the flat, so what is recommended that the landlord put in a letter?

Probably not what you want to hear, but we didn't include any letter from the landlord and our fiance visa was approved without any problems.  :P  We only included the lease.

We could show in our application that we had a room to ourselves (two bedroom flat with a flatmate at the time) and we said that we planned to find a new flat to rent ourselves.

Have the landlord state that you and your partner are the sole occupants of the property, that it is self-contained and he is happy for both of you to stay there until at least the end date of your current lease.

If the end date of your lease is far off (more than 6 months) it could be helpful to have him confirm this in the letter, as evidence of secure accomodation for the medium term will help your application.
