I found apple cider (kind of)!
« on: December 02, 2012, 05:13:53 PM »
I usually make my own with a pressed apple juice, but this was nice and easy.  It was also very nice.

I will warn, it isn't exactly the same thing, but really, it is lovely.  In the juice section is a juice from Copella called "Winter Warmer." In essence, it's apple cider pre-mixed for you to warm up.  There are a couple minor ingredients I wouldn't have thought of, but hey, it took no work on my part other than warming it up and made DH and I feel all lovely and warm.  Thought I'd pass it on in case anyone else was wondering or looking for a seasonal drink.

Thanks for that, Cadenza! I've seen Copella juices, but never the Winter Warmer. I'll have to look out for it.  :-*

I saw a spiced cloudy apple juice at ASDA a couple months ago.  I think it was a limited edition or something.  But it was nice.

I tried this at the Christmas Fayre at Bury St. Edmunds a couple of weeks ago.  It was lovely!  I would also recommend it to anyone who can find it.  I haven't been able to spot it near me yet, but my eye is on the lookout!

Mine was on a display cooler at the end of an aisle in ASDA.  It wasn't a huge store, so I think others should be able to find it, but it was clearly just a limited time thing.

I'm enjoying a mug right now -- very tasty!  Thanks, Cadenza, for the recommendation.

I found it at Waitrose.  It was on a separate shelf from the other Copella juices, but it wasn't too far away from them.

Is it with the refrigerated juices, or on the shelf with the tetrapak juices?

I've checked both places and haven't found it. But I'd assume it's with the refrigerated juices because that's where our ordinary Copella stuff is.

Interesting! Looks very nice and yummy.  I love mulled anything. Especially crabbies mulled ginger wine.  Twingings mulled spice tea is also yummy.

Because of that love, I've just been taking cloudy apple juice, simmering with mulled spice packets, then re-bottling  with the mulled spices and pouring out and re-heating in the microwave when I want some.  Sometimes I re-heat with spiced rum or cranberry vodka for a nice warming tipple.   :)

I shall have to look for this product!

I found it in the refrigerated juices section.  Sorry -- should have specified to help those who are on the hunt!

I wonder what it would be like warmed up with a shot of calvados in it? [smiley=evilgrin.gif]

I bought 2 bottles, and just heated up a cup of it... but I really don't like it!  :\\\'(
To my palate, it was just really viscous pink-coloured apple juice with very little spice to it.  I have probably killed my taste buds with too many curries from hell!
