Working / Financial question for Set (M) Visa Application
« on: December 12, 2012, 01:05:11 PM »
Hi All,

I'd appreciate you thoughts on this question!

Will not having a full time job disqualify me from getting my ILR?

My spousal visa runs out mid-January and I am scheduled for a PEO appointment next week but my husband is worried that I won't get the visa if I don't have a full time job.

My department was made redundant at the end of November and I was payed the equivalent of 4 months salary at that time. I am currently working a part-time holiday job as I look for my next opportunity. Financially due to the redundancy payment and my savings I don't need a job till March/April.

What should I put in the box saying "what is your pay each month after income tax and other deductions"?

Can I put down what my old base salary was since for the next 4 months I still have the same base salary income although it was payed to me as a lump sum? The bank statements I will be presenting to the Visa agent will be before the next pay period of the end of the month so there won't be a gap in payments from my old company. I worked in a commission based job so my pay each month was never standard.

Or should I put down my 20 hour a week job, which is not enough to live on, and explain my situation somewhere else in the application?

Or should I frantically try to get the first full time job I can and only apply for the visa after that?

Thanks for your advise in advance!

Having or not having a job won't play a role into the decision. Does your husband have a job?

Don't put down your old job on the application; just put your current position.
