Moving to Surrey in March

I'm a dual UK/US citizen who has lurked here for a while, and replied to a few posts, who is moving to Surrey in March.

I am a trailing spouse, probably not looking to work in the first instance, who is looking forward to being back in the cold(!), and holidaying in Europe. We've been away for over 15 years but have spent many holidays in the UK and, for family reasons, I experienced this summer's wet weather first hand!

Does anyone have any opinions on Weybridge, Cobham and Chertsey? We're looking for somewhere to live where we won't have to drive all the time, that has its own shops, pubs and restaurants etc.

Weybridge and Cobham are pretty good.  Chertsey is okay but in my opinion not as nice as Weybridge and Cobham.  They all have their own shops, pubs and restaurants so you won't have to drive all the time.  Weybridge looks a bit more modern than Cobham (buildings).

Out of those three, I'd go with Cobham.  If price is a concern, Chertsey would be your cheapest option.

I've been looking online and, as we have a good housing allowance, I'm sure we'll be able to find somewhere nice to live. I'm going early and will have a couple of days to look on my own before my husband arrives  - such a crafty way of ensuring I get the house I like!
