Hello there!
« on: February 18, 2013, 02:22:16 PM »
Hello everyone! I just wanted to officially say hello on this forum.

I've been a long time reader while I have been awaiting my spousal visa (past 6 months now...) and have just recently joined in the conversation on the FLR(M) Processing Time board which has been really encouraging. I am American - came here 3 and 1/2 years ago to do post-graduate study, my husband is British and I am beyond ready to have my visa and passport back so I can feel like myself again and get on with my life  :) (including going on a honeymoon!)

I thought that I should stop fixating on my visa wait and check out the other topics on here as I'm sure they will be as helpful to me the visa topic has been.

Looking forward to getting to know you all xx

Hi!
Sounds like you have a similar story to me. American, arrived in Birmingham in September 2009 to continue a postgrad degree, met an awesome British guy 2 days after I arrived, moved to London to be with him when I graduated in 2010, married him in May last year :). Now waiting for my spouse visa since July...ugh.

As you've probably seen from the FLR(M) Processing Times topic, I tend to fixate on it as well...hopefully the wait is almost over for both of us.
FLR(M) application sent: 4/7/12
Acknowledged: 14/7/12
Biometrics: 6/9/12 (9 week wait)
BRP returned: 28/2/13
Passport/documents returned: 1/3/13

Congratulations on your wedding and best wishes with your visa! Where is your honeymoon to?
9/11/2012 Husband mailed his US citizenship application.
9/17/2012 Received e-mail stating his application has been entered into the system.
9/22/2012 Hubby received letter with date for finger printing.
10/12/12 Hubby went for finger printing.
10/26/12 Dh got a letter stating when he should appear for his interview and test- 11/27/12- just a month away!!!
11/27/12 We went to dh's interview and test- he passed and we went back 4 hours later for the Oath Ceremony! 95 people from 38 countries, really pretty cool!
So he's now a US citizen!!
