SAMSUNG Refrigerator; and before I came here I didn't even know Samsung made refrigerators.
BOSH Dishwasher; and I absolutely love it! It could not be better!
BOSH Clothes Washer; hubby already had this before I came so it's still serving us well.
WHIRLPOOL Tumble Dryer; it's OK but it's a condenser unit so it dries the clothes with humidity and takes much longer than standard units I'm used to. Still, it makes my life easier.
BEKO Cooker; we've had some trouble with it, wouldn't want one again.
and the microwave is some off brand the kitchen installer put in.
MIELE Vacuum cleaner; best vacuum cleaner I've owned. Better "pick up" than either Henry or Dyson. Definitely worth the money.
PANASONIC TV - just couldn't go wrong with the deal we got! Love it!
KENWOOD Kitchen Mixer - Wouldn't buy it again. I much prefer Kitchenaid which is a more solid machine.
With regards to smaller appliances like tea kettles, toasters, etc, I look at features rather than brand and make my choice based on handling and personal preferences.
Good appliances will last a long time - many of them for 20 years or more. I will always try to get the best deal I can on a middle to high end applicance simply because the whole purpose of an automatic applicance is to make your life easier. The stupid Beko oven we have wasn't expensive but it also doesn't have a switch for the interior light so the oven has to be "on" in order to see inside. That's not very helpful for cleaning. There are some other things I don't like about it, but that was my fault for letting the kitchen installer choose it and put it in.
Lots of people seem to like the Henry vacuum cleaners. I hate them. The tools don't fasten together with proper catches and as a result are always coming apart during use. Plus I find it a nuisance having to pull a canister around; a wheel gets caught on the edge of the rug and it tips over.
I never buy the extended warranties because in my experience over the years, they've just been a waste of money. You generally will find the warranties don't cover specifically what you want them to anyway.
