I'm in Manchester and I don't know anyone. Am I the only Yank in Manc?

I live in Sale, in Trafford. There is quite an active Facebook Group for yanks in Manchester if you're interested in such things.

I know! I hear an American accent pretty much every time I leave the house. Still notice a lot of funny looks when people hear mine, though. It surprises me, because it's not really all that rare here.

Last weekend I went to my local park and was pushing my daughter on the swings, there was a girl next to me pushing her daughter on the swings and she sounded American, so I said to her "Do I detect a North American accent?" and she said to me..."are you Rachel?"   Thats how famous I am around these parts! lol!
