I haven't had Subway in the US for years, but I occasionally get Subway here on the wholemeal bread and I think it's fine.  ???

I've never had it in the UK, but perhaps it's better here.

I've had it in both the UK and the US, and to be honest, I haven't really noticed a difference.

I grew up living near incredible little delis with great subs. My first job was at a gourmet deli where we made everything in-house except for the bread, which came from a local bakery. Subway has, therefore, always been rubbish to me in comparison!

That said, there were a couple of sub sandwich desperation trips while I was living in Scotland.  :)

Although I never had the 9-grain wheat bread from there, I still like Subway but only their garlic-herb bread but now after reading this, I am wondering if they make all their bread that way.  How disgusting.
