Consular Report of Birth--Applicant's DOB Question

I am pregnant with my little dual citizen daughter (10 days overdue in fact!) and I am trying to snap up an appointment to report her birth at the London Embassy as soon as possible because we would like to travel with her to the US to visit family mid-late August. (I know we are crazy!)

I found an open appt that suits us on a Monday which we'd really like to get, but I wondered where it asked for applicant's DOB does it mean mine or hers (my daughter) Obviously as she isn't born yet, we are still waiting to know her exact DOB so this would be frustrating if we can't book an appointment yet, but I suppose we will just have to wait.... something I am getting familiar with being this overdue!

OK, that was a waffle. Long story short, is the "applicant" me as her mother applying to register her birth, or my daughter herself applying for citizenship?

I'm sure I've read in here that you can put "Baby" in the name section and your due date if you are applying before your child is due, but I'm not sure if you can still put that once you've passed your due date. Perhaps put down the day you're being induced?

Hmmm that is interesting, and would be great if that's the case!

But I wonder if that would hold up our application if all of the dates don't match up if she isn't born on the exact date listed (ie if the induction takes a few days?)

I wouldn't think it would matter. If you can put in the due date then you can probably put in any date that would be in the ball park - most babies aren't born on their due date. I'm sure the consulate is aware of that.

Can you email them and ask?  The consulate in Edinburgh was very helpful with all of our questions and responded quickly each time.  Worth a try
