Bean'n'Bacon Soup (Campbell's)
« on: October 15, 2004, 07:46:49 PM »
This was always one of my favorites, especially after dumping a load of ketchup into it. Well, Heinz does a flavor called Mediterran Tomato and Bacon which is very similar in taste. So if you, like me, were missing Bean with Bacon soup, give it a try, it will help with any cravings you get as the cold weather settles in.

M&S does Lentil & Smoked Bacon and Sainsburys does plain Lentil & Bacon and both have suitably soothed my Bean & Bacon cravings.

However, since they're not condensed soups, I can't used them in recipes.  :-\\\\

Yeah, I've tried the various Lentil and Bacon ones in the hope they would do, and they do when there's nothing else but this Heinz one is the closest in taste of all, which pleasantly surprised me. If you see it, it's in a soft brown label, might be near the gourmet soups.

Have you tried the Campbells Lentil?  It's a condensed soup.
