Reece's PB Cups.....Health food???
« on: October 18, 2004, 04:57:00 PM »
What a wonderful country we live in,,,,I've recently started a course at Plymouth University and on my first coffee break I went to the cafe and there is a whole range of fruit, organic everything and health food type bars and right smack in the middle of all this healthy eating is a jumbo 3 cup pack of Reece's!!!  Of course, behind me people were looking at them and saying things like,,,"ewwww, peanut butter & chocolate :P"  oh, well,,,,just means more for me!

I brought some Reece's Cups back with me from the US.  It is great hearing that they are in the "healthy section",  I will make sure to remember that as I eat my way through the bag ;)

3 weeks ago we stopped in the middle of Nowhere, Suffolk at a gas station and they had Reeces PB cups! No other American food - Just those.  :o And the place wasn't near Lakenheath or Mildenhall (where USAF bases are) - - just a random Reeces encounter... and now we don't remember where the place is !!!!

And anything that makes you so happy must be good for you, right?

Right?
I'm done moving. Unrepatriated back to the UK, here for good!

Of course they are health food.  Let's look at the breakdown:

Milk chocolate:
Milk, cocoa beans--that's your dairy and "legumes" group right there

Peanut butter:
Seeds, butter--that's more "legumes" and dairy.  And, the peanuts can count in your protien/meat group too.

So, healthy?  Yes!  You bet!  With the right angle anything can be good for you!!

Of course it's a health food... you feel great while eating them, don't you?  ;)

They also carry these in Costco.  I go to the one near Watford.  In fact, I'm going this Wed.  If anybody wants a BIG box of them let me know.  We can talk logistics and finances later.

I love Reese's. Unfortunately I haven't come upon it yet, but I will continue looking. The grocery stores 'round here sell Ben & Jerry's, but not peanut butter cup flavor.  Have to make do with cookie dough and cherry garcia. :)

Oh geez Doug...you had to mention my favorite flavor of ice cream.  I can't wait until November when I head back to Pa...I'm SOOOO eating tons of chocolate/peanut butter ice cream.

Very sporatic, but I've found them at certain Woolworth's (within a 10 mile radius of my house- 2 out of 4), ASDA, and Costco (altho not last week :(  )

Oh well, I was in Covent Garden today playing tourist with my friend from the states........and Cybercandy's CG store came in handy :)

Right, so funny that this is already a thread!  I got back last week from home (NYC) and was so, so, sooooo excited that I had remembered to pick up a huge bag of Reece's.  Well, I get them to my office and everyone looks at them with wide eyes.  What is this they ask, this is what life is all about I reply!  The head of department says, ok then and takes one.  He opens it up in front of me and takes a bite.  He starts making a face, as if he is in pain!!!!  I mean, come on, they are too good, how can he not like them!  Well it appears almost no one in my office likes them!!!  My officemate compares them to snickers!  HELLO!!!  So not the same!!!  My American friend on my floor comes by and sees them and squeels!!!!  I tell her the story of my department head and we both shake our heads in amazment as we eat a few to make ourselves feel better!!!
