I just listed to a segment on Radio4 about the MIT one! Sounds wonderful! And enormously successful/popular. What didn't you like about it, UpFrom100?
Well, I tried it probably about 4 or 5 years ago, and found most of the courses really outdated or even incomplete. There was no interactive elements (no videos, no forums, no peer to peer support/grading)...it was basically just course materials put up online from the various classes. Which would have been amazing (it's MIT, after all!), but as I said, most of it was vastly outdated (at least the technology courses), or even incomplete.
But maybe it's changed since then? That was kind of before the whole MOOC thing really caught on.
