Congratulations, PlainPearl!  I am so glad to read this news.

I'm plugging away on the search alongside TykeMan and hms seahorse (and others), and just knowing that someone else has gotten a job gives me a bit of a lift.  Thanks.

I'm in the crowd of job searchers with Eloise, TykeMan and hms seahorse.  :)

It's nice to know there are actually jobs out there that get filled.  :P  I think I hear back from about half the job I apply for and have had a few interviews since I started applying in January but no luck so far.   :-\\\\  Hearing of people getting jobs gives me a bit of encouragement to keep at it.  :)

Thanks hms_searhorse, Courtney, phatbeetle, kbeech06,kathrynhabitit, mapleleafgirl72, EloiseMX, kbee417, bookgirl and TravelingFrog!

TravelingFrog - I searched halfheartedly from the end of July to the end of January and never got a nibble. I traveled a lot during that time and had a lot of prior commitments, so I wasn't in a huge rush to be employed. I stepped it up when life quieted down and employers actually responded to my applications. I was consistently getting interviews and rejection emails. I'm sure something will come along soon.

EloiseMX - Exactly. I posted because I was always encouraged when other people landed a job. It made me feel like, "They got a job. I can too." It always gave me a motivation boost.

hms_seahorse - I hope you get something soon!

I actually got a job interview off the applications I sent out last week after the boost you gave me! It's tomorrow morning, with a publication that's right in my skill and experience set, just tens stops away on the tube, and at the salary I was hoping for. Fingers crossed!

Thank you! Very excited. They even have a US office, so being American is probably a plus as well.

Thank you, thank you! I charmed my way into that pub job despite no relevant experience, so I'm feeling good about my chances for a second interview where I have all the background and then some.
