TSA lock -- lost key!

Anybody have any idea how to get the little buggers open without the original key?  If TSA can do it why can't I?  We flew back with DS's smaller rolling duffle with his stuff inside mine.  He's unlocked the top part of the case (leaving it all on the kitchen floor of course) and wandered off with the padlock and key.  Doesn't remember where he put it.  So I can't get into the bottom part to remove his duffle.  I've tried a host of keys for other TSA padlocks and even a paper clip but no luck. Grrrrr.

I've never bothered with those little locks anyway - I just figure if someone wants to get into your bag that badly, the little lock isn't going to stop them. Apparently, it's only going to stop you, lol! 

Indeed, Mrs. Robinson. But if you're really worried that your zip will come undone you can use twist ties!

TSA have a special key. I don't bother anymore. Like Mrs R said - if they want to get in your case they will. I do keep a lock though in the case as I like to use it if staying in a hotel.

I had 3 locks broken off by US security so then I bought a TSA lock - ok for 3 trips and then they either broke it off or forgot to put it back on again!

He found the bloomin' thing in amongst his clothes in the (open) top part of the case 

Yeah, I'm sure if someone wanted to break into your luggage a little padlock isn't going to stop them. Indeed they could easily walk off with the whole thing from the carousel.
But I just have visions of the zip somehow coming undone and everything spewing out.

Now, back to cramming things in the rescued suitcase 

That is good you found the key!  Lately I have been using the round circle that you put your keys on ring thing  ? (I'm sure it has a name but I don't know what it is)! to keep the zippers closed, it is secure and doesn't require a key!

I use S-Biners to keep my zips closed.    I know it's not theft-proof, but it is a slight deterrent.    I always had them on my pack (proper backpacking backpack and day pack) and a few times I'd find the zips in a different place then I left them or I'd feel someone trying to take them off....    Well, they can try, but it does take a second to take them off.... and that's if you know what it is!    I have black ones and they blend in with the black zippers, so it's not obvious there's anything there without looking closely.    I backpacked 2-3 years in Europe and never had any problems.

I think she means the little rings that come with a pair of keys from maybe a key shop? Not a key ring you would keep your house/car keys on.
