NY-Lon

Hi everyone,

Moved from NY to Lon. It's been a bumpy ride, but very glad to have this forum. Just hearing other people lamenting over the size of UK fridges and why they close all the doors makes me feel like I really am not crazy :) So thanks!!

I just wish I could make some friends here to do things with. If there are any American girls in N. London please let me know!!

Hello and welcome, from a fellow NYer (LI, specifically).

I'm sure you'll find it's lovely here, even with some of those weird things that make you go 'huh?'. I've lived here for nearly four years and still find at least one weekly occurrence of an odd phrase, food or reference. hehe.

Although not in N London, I work Central (live SW). Happy to meet up. :)

Hello from a Marylander in West London!
It is difficult to speak adequately, or justly, of London. It is not a pleasant place; it is not agreeable, or easy, or exempt from reproach. It is only magnificent... the biggest aggregation of human life, the most complete compendium in the world.

Hi all,

Thanks for the welcome! Moving here and getting used to the culture and life is like a huge learning curve that no one else seems to understand. :( Yes some days I feel like an alien from another planet :( On stronger days I feel like it's a great adventure! I'm in N18. Wish someone would open up an American cafe or something where we could all go and lounge and hang out and feel like we're at home again!
