Syria invasion will be over in 5 minutes
« on: August 28, 2013, 12:07:32 AM »
We are waiting for the US and UK invasion of Syria.

These are simple events. Hit and move on. I'm reminded of Hollywood filmakers. 90 minutes and its over.

Sorry for my sarcasm.

I don't believe an invasion is being considered is it? They are considering action such as bombing but not actually sending troops on the ground.

Viewing images of Syria.....it is like a WWII or something. Terrible destruction.
I just hope that more people will ignore the fatalism of the argument that we are beyond repair. We are not beyond repair. We are never beyond repair. - AOC

So horrible to see the pictures. Part of me says...we need to stay the heck out of it, but my heart says, we can't let this happen to these people. Someone has to help them. No easy remedy to the whole thing.

That's the way I feel. Can't make my mind up on what should happen but the more I hear people saying we should just stay out makes me wonder what would have happened had we taken that view in 1939.

My DH firmly believes that the US & UK are totally responsible for all the goings-on in Syria; nothing to do with the current regime. He has it on 'good authority' that 'the whole world knows' that we are the bad guys behind all this. Suffice it to say, I do NOT discuss 'current events' with him :-). Of course his main source of 'news' is RT.....and of course that is totally unbiased and propaganda free.
Married December 1992 (my 'old flame' whom I first met in the mid-70s)
1st move to UK - 1993 (Letter of Consent granted at British Embassy in Washington DC)
ILR - 1994 (1 year later - no fee way back then!)
Back to US in 2000
Returned to UK July 2011 (Spousal Visa/KOL endorsement)
ILR - September 2011
Application for naturalization submitted July 2014
Approval received 15-10-14; ceremony scheduled for 10 November!
Passport arrived 25 November 2014. Finally done!

LOL Missjoules.....I hear that ALL the time. Plus every other conspiracy theory you can name. DH is 73 years old, and I sometimes think I should have NEVER encouraged him to learn how to use a computer.

When he first "discovered: a couple of of conspiracy theories (won't get into which), I told him I first heard all that crap in the 70s. But will he do any research that could/does debunk this crap? Of course not. I love the internet. Couldn't have worked without the on-line resources that I used every day. BUT - any fool can put up a website and a video on YouTube and make it sound very credible, especially if you WANT to look for someone to blame.

Good thing I love him anyway.

Wow. It's sort... I don't know... coincidental... that we've got a whole bunch of posters coming on here at this time and rubbishing conspiracy theories. Especially as we're only three whole days away from the Eastern Free Mason celebration of the Abraham Lincoln half-year (as everyone knows.)

I'm going to keep an open mind but be prepared for a meaningless flame war if I see any more of this nonsense.     :)
