All has returned to normal in the land of Scouse
« on: September 02, 2013, 12:43:55 PM »
Well I am finally here in the UK and have had my first night's sleep.  All in all, the amount of stress we endured was totally worth it.  Being with the hubby again and the kitty, on a permanent basis is such a weight off my shoulders.

I did have a little snag at Heathrow tho.  Because I was denied a visa before (she did ask me this and asked why, even tho it was all written on her screen), the IO did have me sit off to the side while she went and checked to make sure my visa had been processed correctly and there were no issues.  This kind of freaked me out since EVERYTHING I owned was either in a container en route to England or thrown/given away.  But all was fine.  She did say however that I may get questioned everytime I come in or even asked to wait while they verify the visa since it will ALWAYS pop up on their screen.  It was under 10 minutes (probably more like 5) so I wouldn't mind.  A small price to pay to be able to live in a country I love with the person and kitty I love.

Thank you to everyone who answered my silly questions and offering support when I felt at my lowest.  I would not have made it through this process with all my hair or sanity in tact without everyone's help!  So thank you a million times!!!!

Congratulations JennyEye! It must be a surreal feeling to finally be home with your DH & cat after all the planning and stress and planning and stress and more planning and stress! Glad everything, more or less :P, went smoothly for you!  :D

Stephanie it is quite weird.  It hasn't struck me that this is my home now.  So used to coming to visit and running around visiting the family, that it feels weird to just sit around the house with nothing to do.  We are giving ourselves til the weekend to allow me to relax before we start going through my MIL stuff and making room for our stuff that will be here soon.

Thankfully, since I have been here several times before and I know where everything is, so I don't have the stress of moving into a new home.  But I know that will change when The container gets here and they deliver all our stuff.  :)

Jenny, congrats and best of luck to you in your new home!  Put your feet up for a while! :)  (I think I slept most of the first month after I moved here, exhausted from all the stress. LOL)

I am sure it does feel strange to have nothing to do after basically going at full tilt for how long now! Good thinking to relax and do nothing for a few days, or longer ;D take full advantage of the downtime before the unpacking of the container day arrives!  :D
