Hello!
My name is Alex(andra). I'm mostly from St. Louis, though I originally come from a small town in NE Arkansas.
I've just recently been granted Leave to Remain for 2.5 years...this coming after a 2 year long distance relationship, a one year student visa, then a tiny last minute summer wedding in August. So now starts the process of getting truly settled and finding work and all of that. Despite studying here for a year I'm still finding that I'm lacking in social circles as most of my student friends will be leaving soon and I don't have many local friends yet (and the ones I do have are mostly through my husband). I used to be an active member of a close-knit forum for a band I loved in college and kind of miss those interactions.
During my visa application process I spent a lot of time googling and finding forums but some of them either didn't have a social aspect or required you to pay (?!) for access to most of the topics. So after some more googling I've landed here and it looks like exactly what I was hoping to find. I look forward to getting to know everyone!
