Finding a church
« on: September 16, 2013, 12:04:25 AM »
I am not even sure this is the right section of this forum but I am hoping I got it right.

Anyway, I need some advice. Before I moved here I was going to a Christian Church even though I was baptized Catholic. The Catholic Church I tried was nice but a little hard to get to without a ride every week. It has been a while since I went and it took me over 2 years to get the courage to go to that one. (with an ex family member of my husband's, long story). Lately though I have felt that I need to go back to church but not sure which one to go to. There's about 5 within walking distance and to be honest, not sure they are even doing services.

Should I go on my own one Sunday and just hope for the best? I don't know anyone that would go with me as I don't really know anyone here.

Would your husband go with you, just so you aren't by yourself? I did with DW a coupld of years ago even though I'm not a church goer.
But then she didn't go after. I couple of weeks ago she went by herself (she said she felt the need due to the recent loss of her father) to our local one and enjoyed it and said everyone was really friendly.

Of course you should, if you want to.
Just wanted to say that if you are wanting a Roman Catholic church, but perhaps there isn't one near you, you would probably find that the Scottish Episcopal church feels very familiar to you.
