What address to put on delinquent 1040's
« on: November 06, 2013, 03:02:09 PM »
What address should I put on delinquent 1040s I am fiiling as part of the streamlined compliance program?

- my current actual address (which should be used for communication purposes)?
- my address on Dec 31st of the year in question?
- the address where I lived for the longest period of the tax year in question?

Any help appreciated!

I would suggest using your current address on everything.

Current address. Assume that there's a chance the IRS may contact you at whatever address you give.

Presumably for "Your Occupation" on the signature strip I should put the dominant occupation for the tax year in question? (rather than any current occupation)

The tax returns use your current address. If you are electing into section 911 exclusions then the address on forms 2555 will be your address in years' past.
