OMG!!! BEEF JERKY!

Which is exactly what I screeched when I saw it in my local Sainsbury's.  I also insisted on buying it.  Even though I don't even like the stuff.  

On another note,  the boy at Sainsbury's insisted on packing my bags.  I even got into an argument, because I like to do it a certain way.  And because he was annoying me by trying to fit three loaves of french bread into a carrier bag.  And because he called me Madam.  

I've seen beef jerky at costco's before...They had one of those taste test tables set up,  I walked over to take a look at what kind of jerky it was and noticed on the table photocopied hand written recipes that Americans use beef jerky in!
I love beef jerky but your not gonna catch me making recipes with it!  It would be way to tough to put in with the veg cassorole that the recipe was on about.
I've personally have never heard of anybody cooking with beef jerky ?

mmm I miss my Jack Links peppered beef jerky from back in the U.S. ...pieces of jack links jerky sandwiched between pringles  

Stumbled on some in the airport shops in Gatwick.  Bought like a few bags and had a smile on my face the whole day

In South Africa, they cook with their version of jerky quite a bit...and it is very tasty!  Specifically, they put it in creamy soups, which was really yummy.  I can't for the life of me remember what the heck they called it but I'll bet you can find it here in the South African shops.  Personally, I couldn't tell the difference between it and our jerky.
