Prefer my Wensleydale without cranberries, mainly because we have it with christmas cake which already has plenty of fruit in it.

Back to cranberry sauce though. When I've been to the States for Thanksgiving my step daughter only likes the canned stuff, other people prefer fresh, so there's always been 2 lots on the table. I've always thought the canned stuff on the table with the lines on it looks rather naff! I also don't tend to like the sweet/savoury combination so preferred the home made.

Maybe I am looking in the wrong shops, but I have looked in Evansville, IN, Owensboro, KY and a few smaller towns in between. We are in Vincennes, IN now, and I haven't seen Wensleydale of any kind so far. We looked online and the prices were okay but shipping seemed horrible.

Yay for homemade!!!

Cranberry is one of my favourite flavours. Whether it's cranberry sauce, chutney, tinned stuff, jarred stuff, cranberry muffins, white chocolate cranberry cookies, cranberry orange cake, cranberry juice........ I am a huge fan.
Mine too!  The only cranberry-involved item I dislike is cranberry lemonade.  I recently bought a box of Stove Top stuffing with cranberries in it, and I'm looking forward to it too!

Sigh... I love and dearly miss Wensleydale with Cranberries! There are a lot of cheeses I miss from the UK that I can't seem to find here.
I've seen in in both HEB and Kroger supermarkets.  They also have Wensleydale with lemon, cherries or apricots too.

Or maybe it's just a New England thing?  :(

I haven't tried that but it sounds yummy! What was wrong with it?

I put cranberries in my mincemeat this year. I can't wait to start making mince pies!

Tama, I'm pretty sure our Stop and Shop had the cranberry Wensleydale.  I'm sure that Wholefoods had it.

Speaking of Wholefoods and cranberries:  I looove their couscous salad with cranberries and pecans  [smiley=smitten.gif]  Must try to make it.

ETA: yeah, I prefer my Wensleydale as it comes as well -- with Christmas cake.

I love the idea of cranberries in stuffing. :)

Wegmans also carries it, but I think they are mainly East Coast.

Our nearest Wholefoods is Indianapolis. Looks like a road trip in my hear future.  ;D

Well. This thread left me craving Wensleydale!
So! I had a nice yummy breakfast of toast with cranberry chutney and crumbled melting wensleydale on top....  ;D

Phatbeetle--You remind me of Wallace (from Wallace & Gromit). "Nothing like a little bit of Wensleydale" or "Don't forget the crackers, Gromit!"  ;D

I found jarred Ocen Spray, jellied not whole berry at Poundland. I like the resealable jar now!

J, it's on my Thanksgiving table every year! You telling me you never took a spoonful?  :)

Nope, I haven't. Maybe I have an aversion to cranberry coloured food? I need to be challenged!  :-*
