After my British driving record
« on: January 11, 2014, 12:38:51 AM »
I've returned to my native Texas for a few months and bought a truck - seems the thing to do here.

Allstate, my insurance provider on my home, won't give me auto insurance unless I produce my British driving history.

Just asking here if anyone else has had this problem and knows the quickest, least painful way of getting it.

Cheers,
Bruce

Regards,
Bruce

If you have points for chargeable offenses, it's on the paper counterpart. If Allstate doesn't accept that, go to another insurer. The 'good hands' folks are not necessarily the best IMHO.

This may simply be the agent (or the secretary who actually does the work) who doesn't have a clue. Were you insured with Allstate before? There should be some old record in the system unless you have been away for a lot of years.

Alternatively, go this route: https://www.gov.uk/government/uploads/system/uploads/attachment_data/file/209633/D888.pdf

That will take time however.
