Nutter Butter cookies
« on: October 29, 2004, 08:41:52 AM »
I don't know if any of you are familiar with these cookies (sandwich cookies shaped like a peanut) but they are a favourite of mine from my childhood. I haven't seen them here but I have found a decent substitute--just top a plain Hob Nob with some peanut butter and it tastes very similar.

Something I discovered during one of my many boredom-induced binges. :)

Hubby's found Nutter Butter in the odd shop in London.  Not the large supermarket chains tho.

The HobNob & peanut butter thing is great.  My eldest son discovered this shortly after we moved here.  Very lovely "substitute."  :)

You can find Skippy in Sainsburys.  And surprise, surprise, last week I saw Oscar Meyer bacon for the first time in Sainsburys.

Yeah, I saw the bacon at the one I do my "big" shop in at the weekend.  Could have knocked me over with a feather!

But it has Spanish writing on it!

Yes, but can you find the Nutter Butter wafers?

Now those, are my biggest downfall.  And I even had a hard time finding them in the States sometimes.

Slight highjack.....

Regarding the Oscar Meyer Bacon with the spanish writing on it.

Apparently, as the in-laws live in Spain most of the year, you can get Oscar Meyer bacon, hot dogs and balogne (sp) in Spain!!!
(Guess what I'm having the MIL bring back in a few weeks time.  :P)
