Hi, I live in the Southwest (UK) and came over here from PA/Ohio 11 years ago. I was married to an American when I came over, then was unmarried for a while, and am now all happy and settled down and married to a Brit (Somerset lad), nearing our first anniversary.

We live in a small town in the middle of no-where, with our cat. My husband is a plumber, and I do boring things with spreadsheets (and am hoping to change that sometime soon!

).
Now, I just want to be straight up and say that I post on another site as well -- I've kept my name and profile mostly the same on this site, so it's all above board and honest. I heard about this board and was curious -- and being the sort of person I am, I registered the first day I looked -- didn't even lurk at all. Now, I take it from some of the comments on this thread ("...but beware. The long arm of the law extends even here...", "...and not dwell on what's happened elsewhere...", "......and that the only arms reaching out are ours!...") that you guys have been getting rained on by storms that have been brewing afar. I missed a lot of those storms because I tend to move away from them and, as I said, I haven't lurked here, so I don't know what, if anything, has spilled over. I've lived in the UK for a decade with no American-network to support me -- then, about 6 months ago, I found one, and yesterday I found another. That's great and that's why I'm here. It's nice to see a lot of faces I recongnise already, and I look forward to getting to know the ones I don't. That's all there is to it but, as there seemed to be a bit of a shaky start here, I just wanted to lay it all out flat for you guys.
