But yesterday (Aug 17th) I got an e-mail from Sheffield. Hooray response! And they want more documentation. Gaah!
Sorry to hear that.
They want six months of paystubs and bank statements from my fiance. I'd sent one paystub but apparently that's not enough. And they want some evidence that we're actually making wedding plans.
The requirements and the documents are very specific and you must send every document required or they can refuse the visa.
The required documents include:
Evidence of plans to marry within the 6 months of the fiance visa:
For example, an email chain between you and the church or registry office enquiring about possible ceremony dates, or a provisional ceremony booking.
Financial documents relating to the Financial Category you are applying under. If they have asked for 6 months, I'm assuming Category A (your UK sponsor has been working for the same UK company, earning a minimum of £18,600 for at least 6 months).
The required financial documents are:
- 6 months of original payslips showing a minimum pre-tax amount of £1,550 or more per month
- 6 months of original bank statements showing the deposit of each payslip
- a letter from the sponsor's employer stating: when your fiance started working for them, his current salary, how long he has been earning his current salary, and his type of employment
- Optional, but recommended: his job contract and P60
If just one bank statement or payslip is missing, or doesn't meet the specifications, the visa can be refused.
I'm just not sure how important that is. Has anyone else who's applied for a fiance(e) visa ever been asked for wedding plan evidence?
It's one of the mandatory requirements for the visa. If you don't supply it, they will have no choice but to refuse your visa.
