We've had the first email from Sheffield this morning, I'm so excited.... and then nervous.... and then excited... and then nervous. OMG I feel sick, can't wait til he's actually here to talk me down from climbing the walls lol

It's my husband that's the applicant, I'm from the UK....yes, if the visa was approved he will fly next week. I understand how you are feeling, one minute you are up thinking it will all be smooth the next minute full of "what if?" Good luck, I will keep looking for your news!

Now we wait. Do we reckon before or after crimbo for a decision?

Did she pay for priority processing? If so, then there's a chance she might get it before Christmas, but it's going to be cutting it fine.

If she didn't pay for priority processing, then I doubt it will be done by Christmas - I think it's been taking at least a month for non-priority applications lately, and that's not counting the holiday period over Christmas.

Quick update: VISA approved and returned to the West Coast of the US in 7 days. Absolutely unbelievable.

Documents were pretty basic and only items notarised were my sons and my passport. Bank statements were printed at the bank, pay slips were only for 3 months with 3 months (overseas employer) printed from emails. No Skype, whatsapp, email correspondence included and only 10 photos...The folder was very well organised and clear which I guess worked in our favour.

We did it! Visas recieved after a very long anxious day waiting for them - with one showing as stuck in transit, but we finally got the approval and I'm so damn happy!

I'm no expert but going on other applications, plus time off for the holidays, I would say looking at January, maybe second or third week. Good luck!

TomInCA actually has another thread about their application and has since upgraded to priority. They received their 'Decision Made' email on Dec 22nd:

Just got my passport back today with the approved visa inside! YAHOO!!!

Applied for a spouse visa (non priority) and had a receipt mail 9th December. Still no further news.

Maybe seasonal delay I guess
