Fingers crossed! Does anyone know if it is normal you don't have any information of delivery available when you track your package? I have paid for courier service, but when I track my package there is no update. I am very worried! It is the same number that UK gov sent to me!

You got the email today, right ? I noticed the same thing when I tried to track it. It took several hours before I saw any updates to the tracking. Fingers crossed for you too!!

It can take a while for tracking movement to show up - if you only got the email today, the package may not have been picked up yet, and there won't be any updates on the tracking until the courier scans it.

Woke up to an email that the decision has been made!

No movement on the package yet, but here's hoping it comes quickly- and that the visa's been approved :)

Me too! Fingers crossed for all of us!

I got the visa!!  I'm so happy right now.

In just a few weeks I'm heading out to Scotland and I am just speechless really. It hasn't fully sunk in yet.

I am also full of questions but I will have to come back to that. Thanks to everyone who helped. This is an amazing forum.

Hahaha yes! I am really ready for some cooler weather. This Florida humidity is killing me.

I love when I hear my hubby complain about it being "roasting hot " and it's like 70 degrees. Hahaha! It's gonna be great.

I may be missing Tampa a bit but we can visit and get the sunshine and heat in small doses. 🙂

Did you find it easy to cope with the weather changes ?

Congrats!! We're getting married there in just 2 weeks! It's exciting. Then I come home and go through the settlement visa process in a couple months.

Random question - did you have your partner mail you their portion of the application and put it all together before the biometric appointment? I was wondering how that worked w/ the 28 day window from the application date for the financial documents to be valid.

It should be pretty simple - before you submit the online application, the UK partner gets their financial documents together, then overnights them to you in the US using a courier.

Then as soon as you get them, and you are ready with all your other documents, you submit the online application. That way the financial documents will be dated just a few days before the application date.

The documents only need to be dated within 28 days of the online application date, not the biometrics appointment date.

Yay! Congrats on your upcoming wedding. Where in Scotland are you going ?

I had most of the documents already from our visit / marriage in June and then he sent me his proof of employment (had a copy already but it went past that 28 day mark) , and most recent bank statement and pay slip at the start of the July, and I submitted those so we managed to meet the 28 day requirement.

It worked out ! Best of luck to you!

Yea, it wasn't so bad actually. I expected it to be a lot colder actually so before I left I bought the biggest coat I could find from Burlington Coat Factory, a two in one with fleece inside. While it does get cold it's not as bad as I thought :-P the ended up being far too warm actually.

My guess is that you are already used to the high humidity, you just needed to get used to it being colder haha. I'm from the high desert, where it would regularly be below 0 degrees F in winter and I freeze here! haha. I could run around in a run of the mill winter coat in Colorado, digging out my car of 2 feet of snow and be okay, but here... nope. I wear the same winter coat and shiver like there's no tomorrow.
The usual. American girl meets British guy. They fall into like, then into love. Then there was the big decision. The American traveled across the pond to join the Brit. And life was never the same again.

Congrats on the visa!

Honestly the weather affects me much more than I anticipated.  It's nice to not be too hot outside but the day after day grey really does affect me.  And when it's black as pitch at 4pm...  <sigh>.

There's a reason everyone takes a summer holiday outside the UK.   ;)
