NMF921, I wish it was that cheap from here!!! Lol I found a one way ticket back at the beginning of April (when I originally was hoping to leave) for about $450, but didn't purchase it for obvious reasons lol (no idea at the time when I would get my decision!)  so now that it's on the edge of travel season, everything from where Im from is crazy pricey!

Not sure exactly where you are, but I found out of George Bush international in Houston on the 13th a non stop one way to Heathrow on British airways for $515.00...

Sky scanner shows a few that are about $500 from where I live, which are on British airways or united, but they are through third party companies that I've never heard of, so I'm really apprehensive about booking through them

Makes sense .... I'm really liking the prices I'm seeing ... Especially for a non stop ... I think I'm going to book thru it ....

Futuremrshandy, I'd recommend buying just a one way ticket. Since you'll have a settlement (or fiance) visa, you won't need a return ticket.

Return tickets are usually much cheaper than one way tickets so most people moving to the UK will decide to buy a return and either not use the second portion or use it for a visit back to the US later on.

Nmf921, were you booking from somewhere you found off of skyscanner? And if so, what was the name of the booking agency?

And yeah, I remember my fiancé just told me about May Day the other day lol my first thought was "Cinco de Mayo!!!" Lol that's a Mexican-American for you!!! Haha

Ksand24, yeah. I agree, I've always seen better deals round trip compared to one way... Oh well! Lol

Never used vayama before, but checking flights and I found some really good priced one way flights, but they are under a "secret carrier" anyone know what's up with that? Good? Bad? General info?

Clear your computers cache before a search for flights.  Otherwise the fares will seem to be going up.  They store your searches in your cache and make you think the price is rising and it might not be.

Here's the list of documents I submitted for anyone who hasn't applied yet:

Cover Letter
1. Sponsor’s Letter of Introduction
2. Applicant’s Letter of Introduction
3. VAF4A Application Form
4. VAF4A Appendix 2
5. Applicant’s Biometric Information
6. Applicant’s English Examination Results - only necessary because he is from a non-English speaking country
7. Sponsor’s 2013 Tax Return - wasn't required but I submitted it anyway
8. Sponsor’s wage slips for previous six months
9. Sponsor’s bank statements for previous six months
10. Letter from sponsor’s employer confirming current employment
11. Signed contract of employment for sponsor’s current position - I heard conflicting reports on whether or not this was required
12. Sponsor’s UK job offer confirmation letter
13. Accommodation: Invitation Letter
14. Accommodation: Land Registry - I believe this is strongly encouraged and you can print it offline for a couple of dollars from http://www.landregistry.gov.uk/ [nofollow]
15. Accommodation: Photos of House - not required but I included just in case, since I didn't have an inspection report
16. Accommodation: Council Tax Statement
17. Marriage certificate
18. Itinerary for joint trip to New York City
19. Itinerary for joint trip to Boston
20. Joint Aetna health insurance card
21. Sponsor’s US Passport showing Colombian spousal visa
22. Sponsor’s British Passport
23. Applicant’s Passport
24. Ten (10) photos
25. Applicant’s Passport Photos
26. Planned Itinerary

The evidence of the relationship will obviously depend on the couple. We didn't have skype logs or anything because we've always lived together. However, our lease and bills have always been in my name so I couldn't include those.

Before submitting the application, I spent DAYS looking up what to include, so feel free to message me with any questions!!
