You should call the air line and ask them if you were to book a flight with a long layover, if there was a chance you could be bumped onto an earlier flight, I've done that before with United and not been charged anything as I was basically on standby, which never causes problems
So it's worth calling and asking about that (:
Especially if you check the flights on the site, like with united, you can see what seats are still open on flights...
And yeah I've seen some with international layovers which I'm not keen on at all! I would be too nervous for some reason! Lol Id rather stick with US or even Canadian layovers
But, all of the flights I've been on have just had one lay over in Houston
And thirdly, I googled reviews on some of those travel companies and some of the reviews (like on tripadvisor) and the "good reviews" are posted by people who only ever made one review (which was that glowing review about the company) and that just seemed kinda fishy to me...
