Any updates from recent applicants?

Great information in this thread. Could someone elaborate as to why it's better to send the visa application package to Sheffield rather than NYC?

Also, does the "decision made" email include what the decision was, or do you have to wait until your passport is returned, and you look inside?

Because applications are not processed in NY. They are only processed in Sheffield.

The place it is sent to depends on what type of visa you are applying for. Settlement visas (spouse, fiancé, etc) must be sent to Sheffield for processing, while non-settlement visas (visit, education, marriage-as in just going to get married then return to the US immediately afterwards, etc) are sent to the British consulate in NY for processing.

And unfortunately the "decision made" email doesn't tell you what the decision is... Although I'm sure we all wish it would! Lol you just heb to wait for it to get back to you to find out. But I've read that some people will email them back and request and answer and they actually get one, but I don't know if that really happens or how often...

It's a new week and for those of us still waiting, the start of 5 days of regularly checking emails in anticipation of a response.

Have any non-prioriy applicants heard anything today?

This wait is absolutely horrible! I sent my documents priority to Sheffield on the 14 of March and received the standard "we have your application" email on the 18th. I know it hasn't been that long, but it feels like forever! 

DDia and Gina, I know how you both are feeling... My documents were received in Sheffield on March 12th and I got the "documents received" email the 13th... Hopefully they have gotten through all the priority applications and are working through the non-priority now! Lol I applied non-priority as well, and kicking myself for not paying for priority! I wanted to be back in England today, but that's not gonna happen obviously
Oh well...
I think there are some non-priority who's applications were received mid-February and are still waiting

Oh man! Sorry you've been waiting for so long.... I wish they could just have a way for us to call and get a real time estimate... Not just have to go by the "general averages" that the website has...

Is there any way to purchase priority once the application has been submitted?

Elsa, I just scrolled up and saw that she sent her application in on the 14th and got the "application received" email on the 18th of March
And she did pay priority (:

Hey-

They sent me an email on the 18th saying that my application was received. I've been on this website every day looking to see if anyone received "the decision has been made" email. I was shocked to get that email today because I know other people on here have been waiting longer! I hope everyone gets some good news next week!
