Visa: Spouse non-priority.
9 April 2014 Received at the visa processing centre in Sheffield email.
12 August: Decision made email.
18 August: Visa delivered.

The visa valid date range is 3 years (36 months) not 33 months. Did something change? Did anyone else get this?

I just replied to your post about this in the other thread.

No, spousal visas are only issued for 33 months - are you reading the dates on your visa correctly?

You said that your visa was valid from July 2014 to July 2017, but if the decision wasn't made until August, it should be valid from the date that the decision was made - they never issue it starting on a date in the past.

Remember that the dates are in UK format, so are you sure it's not actually valid from, say 7th August 2014 to 7th May 2017 (7/8/14 to 7/5/14).

19 July - Mailed FLR (M) application
3 Aug - Received first Biometrics Letter - incorrect birth year
6 Aug - Received corrected Biometrics Letter
9 Aug - Biometrics taken
22 Aug - Received approval Letter this morning!

Now to wait for my card to show up!

The usual. American girl meets British guy. They fall into like, then into love. Then there was the big decision. The American traveled across the pond to join the Brit. And life was never the same again.

Wow, that's pretty fast - looks like they're speeding up with FLR(M) applications now as a few months ago, it was taking about 3 months :).

Congratulations :D!

Lyonaria is already living in the UK and was applying for an FLR(M) extension visa, not a fiance or spousal visa, so she will have mailed her application to Durham (I believe) and her timeline won't apply to people applying from the US and mailing their applications to Sheffield.

Oops, sorry to be a bit confusing to everyone! I suppose I hijacked the post a bit.
I figured anyone else applying for Further Leave to Remain (Marriage) might appreciate knowing what the current timeline was for me.

Now to apply for a National Insurance Number so I can actually look for a job. *grins*

And yes, I believe it was Durham. My husband has nicer printing than I do so I had him right the address.

You can look for a job and even start working without an NI number, it's just that you won't be on the correct tax code until you have one and will not be paying the right amount of tax at first. Also, you may find that employers ask for your NI number during the application process, so it's still good to get one as soon as you can :).

Thanks ksand! I have definitely been looking at available jobs and it's good to know that I can can be hired right away if someone will hire me. *smiles* I've got an appointment set up for as soon as they had available, looks like it'll be next week if my hubby can get the day off to drive me. The closest place was Nottingham, which is too far for me to go by bus since we have the puppy.

For those just applying, we are now starting our fifth week, spouse priority visa from the USA under Cat A. Priority app from the beginning, no gaps on any of the criteria.

Hoping for this week. We are now going to have to move our wedding celebration party.

Nothing compared to the waiting time others are suffering , but its really frustrating.

Husband received the email from Sheffield today!

Our timeline is in my signature but we got the email exactly 3 weeks on the nose from the day our application was received in Sheffield. Amazing considering the bank holiday as well.

Passport should be back in his hands on Thursday!

Good luck to those still waiting and praying you don't have to wait too long
