I'm hoping too! And mostly hoping that because we sent ours in a month later doesn't equal and extra month of waiting!!! Lol

Thanks everyone! Unfortunately it does seem to be taking much longer than it was in early Feb right now, but it is most likely just a waiting game and not a sign of anything being wrong.

HI everyone ... I'm New here & this is my First post BUT I have been reading all of your updates for the last few weeks...

I am from Las Vegas and my Hubby of almost 3 years is in Wales, We finally meet the financial requirements so we are waiting on my Spouse Visa - traveling back & forth every 6 months makes it hard to save any money...   Oh and talk about FRUSTRATING - I agree, hearing "did you hear anything back yet?" makes it so much worse ...

We paid for the priority only to get hung up with my return envelope ... AND ... no idea why we have only received ONE email from them stating the processing has started, I thought we would get one that stated "a decision has been made"

Heres our time  line of our Visa activity ....

March 10 2014 - Online application submitted

March 13 2014 - Biometrics submitted

March 19 2014 - Paid Priority service / Supporting documents sent out via UPS

March 25 2014 - UPS tracking shows pkg delivered to Sheffield

March 26 2014 - Email that processing has started received

April 4 2014 - UPS tracking shows Pick up Scan for return pkg

April 7 2014 - UPS shows Shipping Error for return pkg

April 8 2014 - UPS shows my return pkg is waiting to be released by clearing agency

and here we are .. still waiting ....

I understand how hard it is to wait on that package.  Mine was lost for several days and included a drama in which the bar code from my package wound up on another person's package in California (I was in Georgia.)  It took Fedex several days to resolve that very strange problem (visions of someone on the west coast signing for my passport and financial documents dancing in my head) but they were trying very hard and were very helpful.  It does happen, these mishaps and confusions.  Mine had a label they couldn't read easily so it was set aside for research.  You are not alone.  It turned out well for me and I hope it will for you as well.  I just wanted you to know that hiccups like these do not always end badly.  Keep your spirits up and try not to live on the front porch waiting for it to arrive.

Best of luck to you and I hope you get to be in your new home very, very soon!!!

Thank you ... I have been working with the Mailbox store that I shipped it thru to try to get it all worked out (I HAVE to get this guy a coffee gift card of something for all he has done for me) they had to refax a waybill for my package so "hopefully' next week (fingers crossed) I will know more ...

I am just wondering why I have only gotten ONE email from them ... we check daily but nothing ...

I could so understand what you must have been going through ... my mind ALWAYS goes with the worst possible scenario...

Sometimes they don't send the decision made email from what I've noticed with other people on the forum, totally normal and no need for a worry

Hopefully you get your visa in your hands soon

Hi all

We finally received our visa on 7 April having submitted it and got the 'received package' email on 18 February. If you applied non priority shortly after February 18th you should receive news soon.

All the best!!!

No doubt I wil be back on here for spousal visa support.

What I don't understand is how non-priority visas were seeming to take a matter of days in early February.

Add a week or two later, in DDia's case. and it takes 7 weeks.
Feb 2014 - Married
29/04/2014 - Spouse Application Approved
02/05/2014 - Visa Received
09/01/2017 - FLR(M) Granted
22/07/2019 - ILR Granted
05/05/2022 - Citizenship

Just depends on the situation at the time. It could be that hardly any applications were submitted in January and then lots more were submitted in February. Or maybe there are staff shortages now for some reason.

Traditionally it can change at any time, last march it took 24 hours for priority and in April it was taking a couple of weeks. In August 2012, priority was taking 6 weeks and non-priority 2-3 months (due to thousands of student visa applications and staff shortages at UKBA) - just depends how busy the consulate is at any one time.

Congratulations DDia!!
Ben1989 I feel as frustrated!
Can I ask what the visa consists of? Is it a card inside of the passport? Just curious and so hoping that all of us will hear good news very soon...

Congratulations DDia!(:

Elsa, they just print or attach the vignette to an existing page already in your passport

Hopefully we get ours soon!

Oh ok! I thought the photos we send in were used to create a card of some sort.
Thank you for explaining FutureMrsHandy and hopefully the next week or two we'll get ours :)

Yeah, I think they take the photo we send in and use it within the vignette, kinda like the page that our passport information is on
Atleast that's what it looks like in some pictures of visas I've seen

The card your talking about is the BRP card
Which I wknt get till I get my FLR(m), but you should get one because you're applying for a spousal visa

Atleast that's how I think it works lol

And yes! Hopefully soon! Like we've been saying for what seems like forever lol

Spousal and fiance visas are issued as a sticker in the passport, so you will NOT get a BRP with a spousal visa.

BRPs are only issued for applications made in the UK. If you are applying for any type of a visa in the UK, it will be a BRP card, and all visas issued outside the UK are issued as a vignette in the passport.

So, for you, the fiancé visa will be a sticker, then you will get a BRP for your 2 FLR(M) visas and your ILR.

For, Elsa Roberts, her spousal visa will be a sticker and then she will get a BRP for her FLR(M) and ILR.
