Anyone know anything about Aylesbury?

We're looking to sell my FIL's house and combine into a multigenerational home. However we're discovering that even with that nice cushion as we don't want a huge mortgage to get the types of houses we'd like (especially as the FIL is insisting on a new build) means we're probably looking outside the M25.

We have found a few developments we like and one in particular in Aylesbury that has not only provided the level of customer service I expect from sales agents on a housing development but we actually really like the show house we checked out last weekend.

The thing is my DH and FIL are from Cambridge and haven't ventured much beyond a fairly small radius of there except for DH moving to London after Uni. So, we don't know a lot about the area. There are at least half a dozen developments close to what we were told is a new train station so clearly it's growing fast. But I was just wondering if anyone on here knows anything about the area that would make it a good (or bad) choice to settle in?
