Is the Acorn TV service like Netflix? Thanks!

It is similar but limited. I do subscribe to it. I used it to watch some shows or more episodes of shows. If there is something on there you are interested in seeing you might subscribe for a month and watch what you want and then cancel it. I tend to watch things over and over so I keep both subscriptions.

Thanks. Yes, I see now that it doesn't seem to have movies, and so it wouldn't be a perfect replacement to Netflix (in U.S.). The reason I asked was the fact that Netflix (in U.S.)  doesn't yet have the latest season of Foyle's War or Doc Martin but Acorn TV does. Your idea sounds just right: join for a month to watch those 2 shows and then cancel! Or I could finally watch Downton Abbey and wait for Netflix to get the new seasons.

That's exactly what I did. I wanted to watch the rest of Doc Martin and Midsomer Murders. I also watched a few shows I had not seen before that also had Martin Clunes in it. But because you can cancel anytime then I thought it was worth it to subscribe for a month of two and then cancel it. Hope you enjoy!
