Hello all!

I am less than one week engaged to my Welsh sweetie. He asked me to marry him on my 11-day trip to visit him which just ended on Thursday.

Now, our plan is to get married this year and then apply for a spouse visa so I can join him by next year. This is truly the most special and exciting thing that has ever happened to me. So glad I found UK Yankee as I already have 1,001 questions running through my head. But for now, I'm still basking in the "freshly engaged" glow.

Welcome and congrats!!! I've also got a Welsh sweetheart and I'm from the southeast as well (charleston). I'll be moving to Cardiff in August on a student visa. Good luck with your visa process! Glad to see a fellow southerner also headed to Wales!

Personally I think the Welsh are the BEST ... Yes, I'm married to one too and have never been happier... We've been married since 2011 but I've been going back and forth from Vegas to Wales every 6 months (what a pain!!) finally have my spouse visa and will be leaving the end of the month to go back to Wales (Cardiff) and I CANT wait !!!
Have had a few holidays in Aberystwyth, it's SO beautiful up there ...
